Arion

Usage data and product improvement

An optional way to help improve Arion. Sharing starts only after you choose it and the account service confirms your consent.

What is sent

Reports contain seven fields: productSlug (arion), sourceId (a random identifier scoped to your account and this installation), date (the calendar day), visited (whether Arion was used that day), sessions (completed dictations), speechMs (microphone time in milliseconds), and words (word count).

Reports use your signed-in account for authentication. AstraFoundry can associate these daily totals with your account and installation and observe the request IP address and arrival time. They are not anonymous.

What is excluded

No microphone audio, dictated or typed text, keyboard input, vocabulary, clipboard contents, prompts, cursor or screen context, scene names, application identities, window titles or URLs are included. Reports contain no per-session timestamps.

This choice does not authorize cloud polishing, encrypted memory sync or diagnostic-log uploads. Those are separate workflows.

When sharing starts and stops

The product improvement checkbox is off by default. Accepting the terms or signing in alone does not grant usage consent. Only activity collected while signed in with confirmed consent is eligible; earlier local history and signed-out activity are not uploaded.

You can turn sharing off in Settings → Account. Signing out stops reporting, and the server checks current consent for every write. Pending daily reports remain locally for at most 31 days and hold no authentication tokens. Turning sharing off does not delete reports already received by the service.

Local usage totals remain available in Overview even when sharing is off.
